Numerous Season Honors Announced |

The Mid-South Conference recently
released its All-Conference Teams as voted on by the member
coaches. South View placed 3 players on the 1st Team: Chinyere
Bell, Sidney Cook. and
Conference Player of the Year: Ciara Morris. NCBCA All-District Honors
were also announced. South View made history placing 3
players on the 1st Team for District 4 (46 Schools): Chinyere
Bell and District Co-Players of the Year: Sidney Cook & Ciara
Morris. Chinyere was one of only 2 freshmen to receive this
honor among the 12 North Carolina districts. The North
Carolina Basketball Coaches Association named 15 players to its
All-State team to include both Ciara and Sidney. NCPreps.com
released its All State Teams which included Sidney Cook for the
second year in a row. The Fayetteville Observer All Region
team also included Sidney, Ciara, and Chinyere, with Sidney
winning Region Player of the Year honors. Sidney was also chosen by the NC
Associated Press for the AP All State team. |

Season Ends at Final 4 |

South View's magical season ended at
29-1 in the Regional Finals
to Raleigh Millbrook 54-49. Millbrook (29-2) will face West
Forsyth (28-3), who beat previously undefeated
and #1 ranked Myers Park, for the state championship March 10th
at NC State. The 2nd ranked team in North Carolina, South
View
won the 2nd most games in school history breaking several team
and individual
records along the way, and ending two seasons with a 58-2 record.
The team won regular season, holiday classic, conference
tournament, and NCHSAA sectional championships. The incredible support from fans,
families, and friends was unmatched by any other school and was
greatly appreciated throughout the year. Special "Thanks" to our
four
outstanding seniors, Rachel, Ciara, Talibah, and Sidney who
graduate with a 103-14 overall record. |

Tigers(25-0) Undefeated Conference CHAMPS!

For
the 2nd year in a row, South
View finished the regular season undefeated with a 67-35 win
over 2nd place 71st. The following week, the Tigers
opened both MId-South Conference Tournament games with runs of
13-0 (vs Smith) and 15-0 (vs Pine Forest) en route to their 2nd
consecutive tournament championship. Sidney Cook was the
Mid-South Tournament MVP & Ciara Morris joined her on the All
Tournament team. State Playoff seeding will be announced this
weekend with first round games beginning Monday, February 20th. |

20 Opponents & 2 Records Fall |

With 3 regular season games
remaining, the undefeated Tigers continue to roll through
the 2011-12 season and are currently ranked 2nd in the State
among 4A schools by NCPreps media voters at 20-0. In January,
two school rebounding records previously owned by 2003 graduate
& Campbell star Adrienne Rieley were surpassed. Sidney
Cook pulled down 20 rebounds against Pine Forest to claim
the single game record (previously 18). Ciara Morris had 9
rebounds against Douglas Byrd to reach 746 career rebounds
making her South View's career rebounding leader (previously
738). Along with friends and family, the team
celebrated with cake following their 20th win of the
season. |

Cook & Morris McDonald's Nominees |

For only the second time in school
history, South View is represented on the very
prestigious list of McDonald's All American nominees. For the
2012 all star game, South View seniors Sidney Cook & Ciara
Morris are 2 of only 5 players to make the nomination list from
the state of North Carolina. The final rosters featuring
12 players from the East & 12 players from the West will be
released February 9th on ESPN. |

MJ Soffe Holiday Classic Champs |

Undefeated
South View had wins over Westover (54-17), EE Smith (48-30), and
Pine Forest (60-41) to capture the MJ Soffe Intensity Holiday
Classic Championship at the Crown Arena. Ciara Morris was
Tournament MVP and Chinyere Bell joined her on the All
Tournament Team. The Tigers used outstanding defense all
week to hold their opponents to an average 29 points.

matchup. |

Tigers Win Home Opener 67-40 |

South View played great defense and used excellent, unselfish
team passing to take a 21 point half time lead over Lumberton.
The Tigers featured four players in double figures and all 12
team members saw action in the home opening victory. The Tigers
will practice over Thanksgiving before traveling to Douglas Byrd
for a non-conference match-up next week. |

Team Celebrates Championship Season |

final SV Lady Hoops team meal of 2010-11 featured tons of good
food, a special custom cake, some player created artwork, lots
of smiles, and personalized highlight DVD's from a memorable
NCHSAA Regional Finalist, 29-1 season.

Samaritan's
Feet Game Collects 100 Pairs |

Supporting
Samaritan's Feet, the
SV men's & women's
basketball coaches &
cheerleaders were barefooted during the Jack Britt game on
January 5. Fans & students
donated cash and 100 pairs of shoes for the charity. Samaritan's
Feet is a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes shoes to
the over 300 million people worldwide who live their daily lives
shoeless. South View improved to 13-0 by defeating Jack
Britt 46-32. |
